How do I get involved?

A voter initiative is a huge endeavor..... It starts with getting 5000 signatures on the voter initiative petition.

Edmonds has not had a voter initiative since 2002 when 5000 voters signed a petition about mandatory spaying of cats and dogs that were being adopted into the community. This 2026 initiative on how Edmonds is governed is a more substantial topic. It puts teeth into the notion that the citizens are at the top of the city's organization chart.

We estimate it will take over 3 months and a hundred volunteers to collect the required number of signatures on the petition. (This is a physical form, not a on-line petition).

Ways to volunteer:

  • Organizing an in-home meeting of your neighbors and invite them to sign

  • Bring a couple signature forms to your organization's meeting and invite others to sign.

  • Take a one hour shift at our table in front of your grocery store and invite shoppers to sign.

  • Attend events such as music performances and festivals and invite attendees to sign.

  • In the Fall we need fundraising volunteers so we can pay for the mailers and yard signs needed for the '26 general election campaign

Email the team at info@citymanagerforEdmonds.org to let us know you're ready to help. We'll put you to work at the location you prefer.
